Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
Who We Are
Wake on Voice (“the Service”) is operated under the registered business name Wake on Voice (ABN 97 528 586 275) (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
The Service
Wake on Voice is a voice-controlled Wake-on-LAN service that lets you turn your computers on and off using Amazon Alexa. The Free tier supports 1 computer with voice wake. The Full tier supports up to 5 computers with voice wake, voice shutdown, scheduled shutdown (1 per PC), an activity log, and device groups.
Plans, Subscription, and Cancellation
New accounts start on the Free tier, which is permanent and does not require a payment method. You may upgrade to the Full tier at any time by completing checkout for $6 per year (USD), billed yearly. You may cancel at any time to prevent the next renewal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term.
No Refund After Term Begins
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the consumer guarantees that apply to you under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and any equivalent statutory rights in other jurisdictions. Subject to those guarantees, once a paid term begins, we do not offer refunds on that term. Cancelling during a paid term prevents the next renewal but does not entitle you to a refund of the current term.
Service Availability and No Warranty
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Wake-on-LAN reliability depends on factors outside our control, including your network hardware, BIOS/UEFI settings, operating system, and power state.
Subject to the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law and any equivalent statutory rights, the Service is provided “as is” with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of Liability
Subject to the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law and any equivalent non-excludable statutory rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of business, or damage to equipment waking or shutting down.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to wake or shut down devices you do not own or do not have explicit permission to control, to reverse-engineer the Service, or to abuse the Wake-on-LAN protocol in violation of any applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
We'll update this page when these Terms change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If a change materially reduces your rights (e.g., a new acceptable-use restriction), we'll surface a notice on the dashboard the next time you sign in so you know what changed before it takes effect.
Continued use after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't agree to a change, delete your account before the change takes effect — no refund is owed for unused paid time.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved by the courts of Victoria, Australia.
